A reverse osmosis membrane rejects roughly 98% of total dissolved solids. It also matters what RO does that a carbon filter cannot. Reverse Osmosis Installation — What the Appointment Looks Like

A standard under-sink RO installation takes about two to three hours. We start with a free on-site water test so the system is specified against your actual water rather than a county average — hardness, chlorine or chloramine residual, TDS, and iron where a well is involved.

The system mounts to the cabinet wall under your kitchen sink. We tap the cold supply, install a drain saddle for the membrane reject line, mount the pressurized storage tank, and set a dedicated RO faucet at the sink deck. Where a homeowner wants filtered water at the refrigerator ice maker and water dispenser, we run a line to it during the same visit.

After the install we flush the system, verify TDS reduction at the faucet with a meter so you can see the before and after number, and walk you through filter change intervals. Pre-filters are a six to twelve month item, the membrane runs two to three years, and the post-filter is annual. We handle those on a scheduled maintenance plan so nobody has to remember a date.

For condos and HOA communities in Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Palm Beach, an under-sink RO system needs no exterior modification and no HOA architectural approval, because the entire unit lives inside the cabinet.
